The American Association of Feline Practitioners launched the Cat Friendly Practice program to improve veterinary care for cats around the globe. Animal Health Clinic follows their guidelines. 4 REQUIREMENTS FOR A FELINE-FRIENDLY PRACTICE
In order to keep our Cat Friendly Practice designation, we must follow the AAFP’s guidelines. Some of these include:
- A separate waiting area, entrance or other creative method to keep cats and dogs out of the same space.
- Staff members who are especially knowledgeable about and patient with cats.
- Cages that are the appropriate sizes for cats.
- Appropriate equipment, including X-rays and anesthesia for cats.
